Fuel EXe 5 is an aluminum electric mountain bike that brings all the tech of its carbon counterpart into a pocket-friendly package. It boasts the same tiny-but-mighty drive system that quietly disappears under you, plus a sleek display and remote. But what really makes this bike excel is its true trail bike feel that handles just like a traditional mountain bike, just with a little extra power.

Super quiet motor, feels like a regular trail bike. Battery lasts longer than I expected. Suspension is plush and handles rough stuff well.
Price is a bit high compared to similar bikes. Display is basic.
I got the Fuel EXe a few weeks ago and honestly, it’s been a blast. The motor is so quiet, sometimes I forget it’s even an e-bike. I’ve ridden Specialized Levo before and this Trek feels more like a normal bike, which I like. Battery life is solid, I can do long rides without worrying. The suspension soaks up roots and rocks, really comfy. The display is kinda simple, wish it had more info. Frame feels sturdy and the geometry is spot on for my riding style. I’ve taken it on some gnarly trails and it handled everything. The power delivery is smooth, not jerky at all. Charging is pretty quick too. I’d say it’s a good pick if you want a stealthy e-bike. Not the lightest, but manageable. Compared to my old Giant Trance E+, this climbs better. Would recommend for serious trail riders. Just wish it was a bit cheaper.
